Ganzhou has a humid subtropical climate (Köppen Cfa) affected by the East Asian monsoon. Spring begins especially gloomy, and from March to June each of the months averages more than 180 mm (7.1 in) of rainfall.
Summer is especially sunny, long, humid and very hot.
Autumn is warm and relatively dry.
Ganzhou has a cool and drier winters with occasional cold snaps, featuring some of the highest summertime temperatures nationally outside of the Turpan Depression in Xinjiang.
The Beijing-Jiulong Railway goes through Ganzhou from north to south, and it meets the Ganzhou–Longyan Railway (Ganlong line) at East Ganzhou Railway Station in Zhanggong District.
Ganzhou Huangjin Airport
The new Ganzhou Huangjin Airport, located in Nankang, was opened on March 26, 2008. Its name inherited from the old Huangjin Airport in Huangjin Town, Zhanggong District, which was closed since it was too close to the expanding Ganzhou urban area. It has domestic routes to Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Nanchang, Xiamen, Nanjing, Shanghai, Nanjing, Chongqing and Beijing.
Yugu Pavilion (Yugu Tai) (Chinese: 郁孤台) is located on Helan Hill (贺兰山) (also named: Tianluo Hill, 田螺岭) in the north of Ganzhou City, Jiangxi Province, China. It is among the list of Provincial-Level Scenic and Historic Interest Area of Jiangxi.
Bajing Pavilion was originally built by the municipal governor Kong Zonghan(孔宗翰) during Jiayou Era (嘉祐 Jiāyòu) 1056–1063, Song Dynasty. In the following a thousand years, it was burnt down several times. The present pavilion was rebuilt in 1984 and opened in 1987. A 7.6-hectare area around the pavilion was adorned as Bajing Park in 1955.
